Warm Your Heart with Art this November
Coastal autumn weather can be a little chilly and damp. Here in Prince Rupert, we’ve mastered the “art” of keeping our spirits and our bodies warm!
The magnificent Museum of Northern BC, set in a traditional longhouse, displays a renowned collection of First Nations art and artifacts. The long history of indigenous storytelling through art can be found, here. This world-class museum boasts some of the most unique and intricate examples of the work of the Coastal BC peoples. Its welcoming design and innovate exhibits are easy to explore, making this a lovely respite on a wet fall day.
Searching for a more hands-on experience? You’ll find it in the inspiring work of our many talented local artists, artisans and crafters. From traditional Tsimshian carving to contemporary photography; from painting to textiles to handmade glittery slime (ask the nearest 10 year old to explain that one!); from gourmet treats to jewellery, whatever you can imagine will be on display at the beloved Kaien Island Craft Fair.
